Bird Food for Great Crested Flycatchers: 5 Blends Tested

Are you struggling to attract beautiful birds to your backyard? Wild bird food can transform your space into a vibrant haven.

Wild Delight Bugs for Birds and Wagner’s Greatest Variety Blend are two popular options, but they serve very different birds. One is built for insect-eaters like the Great Crested Flycatcher, while the other is a broad songbird seed mix. Knowing which is which matters more than the label on the bag.

We break down ingredients, attractiveness to various bird species, and more to help you choose the best option for your feathered friends.

How We Compared These Bird Foods

We looked at what each product actually contains, which birds it is built to attract, and how well it holds up in real backyard use. For Great Crested Flycatchers, the deciding factor is simple: insect and fruit content, not seed variety. A blend loaded with sunflower and millet will feed cardinals and finches, but it will not bring in a flycatcher. The products below range from insect-focused mixes to broad songbird blends, so the right pick depends on which birds you want to see.
